Brand: Sears Kenmore Hi. I own a rental house and my tenants tell me the fridge is leaking onto the kitchen floor each night.
I plan to head over there this weekend to look at things, but wanted to get some info ahead of time. They say the leak is not coming from inside the fridge (meaning, water is not collecting inside the fridge, then leaking out the door). They've tried pulling the fridge out and looking for a drip pan (to check if it's dirty) but say they can't locate one. Can you tell me where to look for this and if it can be removed to check for cracks, etc? 2016 yamaha majesty motorcycle service manual.
I'm not super handy, and since it's a rental house I'm not there day and night to listen for the compressor to kick on, etc. Any other suggestions for things that might be relatively easy to check before I pay for a repair visit? Hi, The drain pan is in the very back of the refrigerator behind the compressor, its non-removable. The problem I see most is the drain clogged up.
Take the food out of the freezer, then take the shelves out too, then you need to remove your back panel from inside the freezer, its #214 here: Then you will look at the very bottom under your very bottom defrost heater#230, you will see the drain trough, it will likely be a solid block of ice, you'll need to defrost that ice with a hair dryer and hot water. Once all the ice is out, try to run hot water down the defrost drain hole, also run something down the defrost drain hole, like a little rotor router snake. I use a evaporator cooler spider snake: They are used basically in Arizona to clean out the water pump tubes that run to the cooler pads. I don't know if they would sell them in your area, but if you go to your local hardware store, they should have something similar to run down your drain to clean it completely out. Let us know how it goes. Jake, you were dead on about the drain hole being blocked with ice! The tenants had been mistaken (thought the leak was from outside the freeezer - like from the back - and swore it wasn't from inside).
There was about 2 inches of ice built up in the bottom of the freezer. 2017 isuzu elf truck owner manual. Once I removed it, it was fine. That is, until recently. The latest email from the same tenants says this: 'We are having trouble with the refrigerator again - it's not cold enough.
I had breads, freeze pops, ice cream and ice cubes in the freezer that have completely melted. The meat (which we keep in the bottom part of the freezer - so maybe it's colder down there?

Not sure) is still frozen. We've had to throw away 1/2 & 1/2 and milk because the 'fridge part isn't cold enough either. We turned the knobs up as high as they will go to keep it cold (usually everything in the bottom of the 'fridge freezes when we have it that high).'
Before I stop over to the rental house to take a look, do you have any suggestions or guesses as to what this might be? Thanks in advance! Ok, then Its sounds like one of your auto-defrost parts is out, you have 3 parts that control that, your defrost timer, defrost thermostat, defrost heater. You would need an ohm meter to ohm your defrost thermostat(While Frosty) for continuity, and also your defrost heater. A simple test first: First advance your defrost timer into the defrost cycle. Your defrost timer is located inside your refrigerator section, its #257.
Just remove your knob#425 then pull your light shield#421 off, then turn your defrost timer clockwise slowly till it turns your refrigerator off. Then the heater should come on. Its best to remove the back panel in your freezer first to see it better, its located on the bottom of your evaporator coils. If the defrost heater does come on, then the problem is just the defrost timer is bad.
Here's the defrost timer for your model, in case you need to order it: WR9X489 Here's the defrost thermostat/heater assembly: Part# Jake.

When the ice begins to build up on the floor of your Sears Kenmore refrigerator freezer, chances are the refrigerator drain line has frozen and become clogged. This often occurs when the refrigerator door gaskets become damaged or dirty. A poorly sealed refrigerator or freezer door allows the humidity to build up inside the refrigerator, resulting in frost buildup even in frost-free models.
